SK First Timer

“Taking both the Limited Open Championship as well as Open Reserve honors was Sweden’s Styrbjorn Persson with Kurt Byquit’s SK First Timer. With the 4-year-old gelding by Acres of Time out of Dmac Delta Dawn between the reins, Persson earned a 199 composite (herd work 63/reined work 67/fence work 69). “I’m happy with these results because after we decided to geld him last year, I only got to ride him for six months due to weather conditions in our country,” he said. “I only started riding him three months ago this year and, because he is still a little green, he was a little insecure and nervous here. In the fence work he was great and I truly felt he loved what he was doing! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Markus, Otto [De Fazio] and all the ERCHA board for the work they do to promote our sport in Europe.” Persson and his mount also claimed the ERCHA Open Hackamore with a 127.5 composite score (reined work 66.5/fence work 61). Aboard Docs Smart Baron, owned by Hakan Hakansson, he went on to win the ERCHA Novice Horse Open with a 133.5 (reinerd work 67.5/fence work 66).” (from the ERCHA website)

SK First Timer

SK First Timer is the FIRST product from our breeding program, and this gelding by Acres of Time (Italy) won his first NRCHA check this past weekend! We’re extremely proud of “Turbo” who’s a son of our great broodmare, DMAC Delta Dawn.

Huge congratulations to owner Kurt Byqvist and rider/trainer Styrbjörn Persson!

Sold horses.

When my life drastically changed earlier this winter I had to make some hard decisions which involved reducing our number of horses for a while… Therefor, I sold Smart Kachina Tag to Austria, PG Lynnie to Belgium and Shine Ice to USA. I am so glad I found such good homes to these great horses and I wish their new owners the best of luck…

Now it’s time for me to focus a little more on our foundation horses; DMAC Delta Dawn and her two daughters SK Candybox & SK Royal Refletchion, as well as her granddaughter SK Miracle Box. These girls are truly amazing! Time will tell what and where to go from here but I’m so proud to have these ladies in my barn! And I’m excited to see our foal by Shine N Spook this spring!!

Welcome home Lynnie!!!

This is our new broodmare, sired by the legendary Playgun, and out of a Doc’s Hickory mare. PG Lynnie is a wonderful addition to our broodmare band and we are thankful for the opportunity to purchase her from Bruko Reining Horses in Belgium. Lynnie is 14 years old and will stay with us at JQH for the rest of her life. We are truly glad to be her forever-home!
